Welcome Free swimmers.... Please Join us in our open water swims and sign our "wall of fame" when you have successfully completed your swim See our FAQ section on the "AQUATICA wall of fame"

We have been doing informal open water swims since 1989 at Lucky and Jacquie Meisenheimers' estate (AQUATICA) on lake Cane .

The following are the Guidelines for the swims:

Who: Anyone can join Lucky in his swim but please consider these points before you attempt a swim.

  1. There are no lifeguards or rescue boats you swim at your own risk.

  2. Even if others are swimming with you they may not be able to see or help you if you get in trouble.

  3. There are no walls or lane lines to hang on to and the water is deep. "Saying I think I can make it before your swim does not cut it... you must know you can make it before you start"            .

  4. Kids can swim but they must have their parents permission, all kids 12 and under must swim with a chaperone.  One chaperone per child.

  5. Although we usually do not swim when there are boats and/or jet skiers out sometimes they may appear during the swim.

  6. There are live animals in the lake.

  7. If you have medical conditions, heart disease, asthma, prone to cramps, fainting episodes, out of shape...you could die...open water swimming has extreme risks for those that are not comfortable in the water...being 200 meters off shore and realizing that this was a bad idea is too late.

  8. We don't do "check out swims" before you swim... know that you can make it. If you think you can make it don't even try, come back when you know you can make it.

  9. Swimming with a floatation devise (pull buoy, wet suit, towed swim noodle) is encouraged.

When: Monday-Friday at 6:30 am and Sat. 7:45am ...no early or late start times.

Where: 6645 Lake Cane Drive click here for directions and Map Latitude 28.48323 Longitude -81.47434
